A: That's a hard question to answer! Honestly, I've had a camera in my hands ever since I could walk. I made my first short film when I was five with my dad's giant VHS camcorder that was nearly as large as me! (The short film was about my dog if you were curious.) That being said, I shot my first wedding in 2018.
A: I'm currently booking 2020 and 2021 weddings. 2020 is filling up fast, so contact me sooner than later if you're interested!
Q: How many photos will we get?
A: I always promise 50 photos per hour for weddings to give you a rough idea of what you'll get. That being said, every wedding is unique and I'll do what is necessary to tell the story of your day. I also don't put a cap on the number of photos you'll receive.
Q: When do you prefer to shoot?
A: For standalone sessions (not weddings), I prefer to shoot within 2 hours of sunrise or sunset - this time of day produces the softest and most flattering light and is what you see in 95% of the images on my website. Shooting in the middle of the day should be avoided, although this is less important if it's overcast or if your location has plenty of shade.
Q: Do you travel outside Minnesota?
A: You bet! I often travel out of state for weddings and elopements. I even lived Austria for a year, so visiting new places is near and dear to my heart. Fill out my contact form and I can send you information about my packages for domestic and international travel.
Q: Do you photoshop your clients?
A: Light retouching is included in all packages - this includes removal of temporary blemishes and smoothing out skin tone when necessary. I will not photoshop you to be smaller or taller and I won't photoshop anything that's a part of your identity (ie. a scar on your forehead) unless you specifically ask me to. Asking for more in-depth retouching will affect price and turnaround time.
Q: How do we receive our photos?
A: When your photos are complete, I'll upload them to an online gallery where you can download them, order prints, and more.
Q: What rights do we have to the photos?
A: You have all rights to download, print, and use your photos for personal purposes.
Q: Do you photograph LGBT weddings and couples?
A: I sure do! I'm here to document love, plain and simple.
